NEA Baptist administrator wins Regent’s Award Brad Parsons, CEO and administrator of NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, recently received the American College of Healthcare Executives Early Career Healthcare Executive (ACHE) Regent’s Award. The award recognizes ACHE members who have made significant contributions to the advancement of health care management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals. Members are evaluated on leadership ability, innovative and creative management, executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community, and participation and interest in ACHE and its activities and objectives.
“I am honored to be the recipient of the 2013 ACHE Regent’s Award for Early Career Healthcare Executive,” said Parsons. “As we look to the many changes and challenges on the health care horizon, groups like the Arkansas Hospital Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives provide great value to our profession. I am proud to represent the mission and the meaningful work of NEA Baptist in the growing area of northeast Arkansas,” he added.
Parsons has participated in several initiatives during his time at NEA Baptist. He sits on the local Joint Economic Development Council and has participated in a small group of Arkansas hospital CEOs who serve as a sounding board for Medicaid program changes, specifically episode-based care in the Arkansas Payment Improvement Initiative.
Parsons represents NEA Baptist in several civic and community activities, including NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation events, the local Relay for Life, and Arkansas State University activities. He also serves on the Alumni Board for the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s graduate programs for health-related professions. NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital will be relocating to their new medical campus in early 2014. Parsons in his role as hospital CEO and administrator has played a vital part in this transition.
