Are all your kiddos out of school?? I always loved that end of school year finale and beginning of summer. The only problem was when the end of the year came as more of a fizzle than a finale, and mid-summer, the joy of summer turned into boredom and the mundane.

Now that I'm the adult and the one in control of that, I refuse to let anything fall into mundane and boring. Each day has new chances to make up for failures of yesterday, blooms on trees, and life happenings. To make this easy on myself and not more stress than boring would be, I made a simple set up to keep at least 15 minutes of each day different than the one before.

I bought jumbo popsicle sticks at Hobby Lobby and then wrote on each one a different activity. Some were things we have to leave the house for, like bowling or the Nature Center, but most are simple things we can do from home with no extra cost. I stuck all the sticks into a mason jar, and each morning, one of the girls gets to pick one out, taking turns every other day.

You could make them and add more age appropriate ideas. I didn't use all of my sticks so that I could add new ideas to the rest or switch some out later in the summer or after the baby is here. Try it out and see what fun ideas you and your children can come up with for your summer!
