Little Hands Have a 'Yes' Day As a parent, do you ever feel like you say "no" so often that it becomes habit, and then, before you know it, you're saying "no" to everything before even really thinking on what they asked for? I do. Whether it's because of a mess I'm afraid of, how much energy it will require of me, or how crazy it'll make my children, I often say "no" until it seems like it becomes an automatic response I no longer even think about. When that happens and I begin to notice it, I choose a day to be our Yes! Day. It's a day where I say "yes" instead of "no" to random requests from my girls. Nothing dangerous or insane, of course, but how often are our children asking for something that is truly out of the question? So, whether it makes a mess or is a less healthy version of dinner than I'd prefer, I spend a day enjoying "yes" instead of finding reasons to keep up my "nos." It also kind of snaps me back into really thinking about their requests and my answers instead of just denying them. What do you think? Could you and your kiddos benefit from a day of Yes? It really is a lovely holiday to declare for your family.
Until next time,
