The next Craighead Out of the Dark Coalition quarterly meeting will be on Wednesday, May 9th at Mid-South Health Systems (2707 Browns Lane) at 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

This is a community meeting open to the public for the citizens of Craighead County and other county representatives interested in the Out of the Dark Movement.

The meeting will include updates from the standing sector committees and a discussion about coalition fund raising events to support the implementation of their local “demand reduction” action plans. Also, there will be a presentation by Skip Mooney, Jr. about the 2012 National Rx Abuse Summit that he recently attended that involved Congressional representatives, national healthcare leaders and over 700 agencies and organizations from around the country.

Please RSVP on our website at the OD Coalition page and let us know if you will be eating lunch. Cost is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Please do not let the cost of the lunch discourage you from attending this important community meeting. Attention Students: If you need someone to sponsor your lunch then please let us know when you RSVP.

The spread of chemical addiction in our communities has now been declared to be a growing national epidemic by all the experts and we have plenty of local issues that have to be addressed if we are going to really stop the spread of this illness and the resulting damage that it is causing in our communities.
