Earlier today, a large crowd gathered at 3417 One Place for the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Donald W. Reynolds Charitable Food Distribution Center. The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas was awarded a $7.9 million grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation to build, furnish and equip a 56,000 square-foot charitable food distribution center on 6.5 acres of land. The foundation also awarded the food bank an additional grant of $502,000 to purchase additional supplies and services.

After Christie Jordan of the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas welcomed the crowd, Mayor Harold Perrin, Charles Nabholtz of Nabholz Constructin Services, the general contractor for the project, Mark Young of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce and others addressed and thanked the crowd for their support, especially Liberty Bank, Nestle and the Jonesboro Rotary Club.
