The Craighead County Bar Association is privileged to host the Arkansas Supreme Court for oral argument here in Jonesboro on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Riceland Hall Auditorium in the Fowler Center at Arkansas State University.

This is a rare and unique opportunity for the citizens of Northeast Arkansas to see the pre-eminent judicial body of our State in action. Our Supreme Court hears appeals from decisions rendered by local Circuit Courts, the Arkansas Court of Appeals and other administrative bodies. The decisions it makes are the final word on many issues that impact the lives of everyday Arkansans and which carry significant implications for how business and government operate within our State.

This Thursday, the Court will convene in official session and hear an oral argument right here in Jonesboro. We are fortunate to have two fine local attorneys, Brian Dover of Jonesboro and Robert Thompson, III of Paragould, to argue the case that morning. The session is open to the public and we invite and encourage all Chamber members to attend. Come one, come all, so that the Justices can see and understand how strong and involved the citizens of Jonesboro are in their community!
