Autumn in Arkansas Fall is officially here, and with cooler temperatures comes the gorgeous array of autumn colors that make this time of year so special. The first of Arkansas' fall foliage reports was just released, so now you'll know where to go to see the pretties and brightest fall colors. A group of spotters around the state keep the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism updated on the status of the changing of the leaves in their area. These are compiled and then posted, on Arkansas.com late each Thursday afternoon during the season. You can also get the reports by calling 1-800-NATURAL. In addition to the color reports, the site also recommends various scenic drives throughout the state. While cruising the backroads of The Natural State, look for roadside stands to get your fall decorations, including pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks and more. Check the Arkansas Agritourism page to get locations. Several farms also offer corn and hay mazes, hay rides, pick-your-own pumpkin patches and more. You can find information on these in the calendar of events. If a motorcycle or bicycle is your preferred mode of transportation, you can download the "Let's Ride" motorcycling brochure or the "On/Off Road" bicycling brochure. Then, hit the road and enjoy the best of Autumn in Arkansas. Don't forget your camera! [+] add comment |
