Little Hands: A Colorful Summer I hope everyone is staying cool this June. I've never liked the month of June for as long as I can remember. Mostly because I'm a fall winter kind of person, but also because there's not a single holiday in the whole month. No reason to celebrate, just..heat. So, as a parent, I've decided to combat the mundane month with color holidays! This morning, I randomly decided today would be Orange Day. For breakfast, we decided to eat some orange danish rolls with orange juice. We went outside to play and spotted all the toys outside that were orange. For snack, I made fruit shish kabobs (unfortunately, I had no oranges on hand, but I did have some orange peaches!). For lunch, London had Kix (she calls it orange ball cereal) in an orange bowl with an orange cup of water and an orange spoon. Yes, cereal for lunch. Don't judge me, it rained and I picked my battles knowing we may be in for a long afternoon ahead ;). We found all the orange things in our living room. After nap, we colored and cut out pictures on orange construction paper and painted with the chalk paint with food coloring to make it...you guessed it, orange. Snack will come soon, which I'm thinking should include orange goldfish crackers, Cheddar cheese, sweet potato chips, and anything else I can find in our kitchen. Things don't have to be fancy, or even make sense, with kids. Anything out of their norm is fun. I think our next color day next week will be one of the colors she has problems remembering, like purple. The food part may be difficult, unless I use a lot of blueberries for natural dye. Next week, I'll be sharing a current project London and I are working on! It's a castle play house just like her house from the curtain!
Until next time,
