Little Hands' No-Sew Lunch Box I had another post topic in mind today, but...it has rained a lot, cancelling out the fun we were going to have that I was going to blog about. I thought I'd share, instead, London's little lunch bag that she takes to a babysitter once a week. I found the oilcloth tablecloth at a thrift store brand new for $1. I wish I had a tutorial for this, but I forgot to take pictures along the way. Luckily, you can google this and find several websites with instructions including Martha Stewart's site. I cut two long pieces and four shorter ones for the sides. I didn't want to deal with the slipping around, so I actually put a little hot glue on the back of each piece and put them together so the nice side was facing out on both sides. I then folded the long piece and sewed on the sides. However, my sewing machine was having serious issues and I ended up getting a new one, but at the time, I was stuck. SO, I pulled out the cute turquoise duck tape that I have, and seriously just duck taped over the places that needed to be sewed. I made a little blue rosette out of a tshirt scrap and hot glued it on as well. Last, I took some Velcro and put it inside to make the bag close while standing up, and then another two pieces on the front to make the bag fold down and close. Ta da! No sew lunch bag for $1! Happy Mother's Day this weekend! Maybe the rains will stop soon, and I'll get to share a day of School's Done, Summer Fun! celebrations! Or, we'll just call it, Yay! a Sun! party. hehe
Until next time,
