Happy Earth Day! Happy Earth Day, everyone. In honor of the greenest holiday there is, we would like to share our staff's favorite green things with you, and if you want to get in touch with your wild kingdom side, head to the theater to see African Cats this weekend. We'd love for you to comment below on how you go green! "I get my hair done at The Shop, and every time I go in, their great selection of jewelry always catches my eye. These earrings and bracelets are adorable, and the fact that they're eco-friendly is just an added bonus." -Lori Tyson "This one-of-a-kind serving piece was given to my husband and me by our friends Doug and Sandy Nash of Smashed Chefs (thesmashedchefs.com) for a wedding present. They use recycled glass bottles to make all kinds of personalized products, and this one has an etching from our wedding invitation." -Audrey Hanes "My Re-Hy bottle is made from post-consumer use bottles reclaimed from restaurants. Each bottle goes through a three-part sanitizing process and is then engraved and fitted with one of three different re-useable tops. I like the fact that it is a recycled product, that it has eight-ounce segments marked on the bottle so I can easily keep up with how much water I'm drinking and that it's made of glass so I'm not wondering what toxins I'm taking in from plastic while I'm drinking from it. Visit re-hy.com for more information." -Audrey Watkins "Zhena's Gypsy Tea coconut chai black tea is delicious with vanilla soy milk and local honey. I love how it tastes like liquid gingerbread. This aromatic, fair trade, organic tea comes in a fully recyclable and reusable tin, and the tea sachets can go right in your compost. Find your favorite flavor at gypsytea.com." -Brittney Guest "Our Aprilla scooter gets around 100 MPG, and at $3.35 per gallon, that's not only good for the pocketbook, but also for the environment!" -Vicki Nutt "With two young boys in my home, I have become a fan of homemade green cleaners because I don't have to worry about unsafe chemicals or fumes. I mix baking soda and vinegar to clean all of my bathroom surfaces. For my kitchen, I fill a spray bottle with water, grapefruit seed extract and tea tree oil." -Shaila Creekmore [+] add comment
