Presidential Search Advisory Committee Meeting Sept. 30, 2010 - The Arkansas State University Presidential Search Advisory Committee met today and reviewed the qualifications of 13 applicants. Based on this review, Mrs. Florine Milligan of Forrest City, chair of the committee, has invited two applicants for interviews with the committee at its next meeting, Wednesday, Oct. 13. The committee was conducting its third meeting since being formed on July 30. After approving a position announcement, advertising and related materials during earlier sessions, this was the first meeting during which individual applications were reviewed by the members of the committee. The committee includes representatives from the ASU System campuses, key constituencies, and the various communities. For almost two hours, the committee discussed and assessed materials from 13 candidates who submitted applications before today's meeting. Mrs. Milligan said she is very pleased with how the search advisory process has progressed thus far, and she emphasized that no one has been eliminated from consideration at this point. The two individuals who have been invited by Mrs. Milligan and have agreed to interviews on Oct. 13 are: - Dr. Richard J. Federinko of Dadeville, Ala., senior vice chancellor for Student Services and Administration at Troy University, and - Dr. William B. Richardson Jr. of Baton Rouge, La., chancellor of the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center, and Chalkley Family Endowed Chair. The Presidential Search Advisory Committee will continue to accept nominations and applications. Applications will be accepted until at least Oct. 15, or until the Board of Trustees appoints someone as president. The position announcement and application procedure, along with preferred candidate qualifications and characteristics, are available on the Arkansas State University Presidential Search website, http://presidentialsearcy.asusystem.edu. A profile on the ASU System and the various campuses is also included. ### Tom Moore Arkansas State University [+] add comment |
