Volunteers Needed for Day of Caring "When we have volunteers here on our campuses for Day of Caring, everyone wins!"
says Barbara Pitcock of The Learning Center. "As a not-for-profit, we are given the gift of people's talents, expertise and VERY HARD WORK! The volunteers are able to see how the projects they complete are beneficial to the individuals we serve. We make new friends and visit with old friends. It's a great day for us all!" That is what the 18th Annual Day of Caring is all about. Hands-on - making a difference.
On the Day of Caring, volunteers come together to do projects at local non-profit organizations and witness how United Way dollars are spent to provide services in our community. Projects in the past have included repairing playground equipment, building shelves, yard work, and painting. Groups and individuals can work all day or only a morning or afternoon.
Please join us on: To be a Day of Caring volunteer, please click here to sign up as a group or as an individual. Please be sure to sign up by September 17 so that you can be matched to a project! You will receive your project assignment by September 22, followed by a call from the agency project coordinator to finalize plans. Show your team spirit by designing a t-shirt incorporating the Day of Caring logo! You may download the logo from our website at www.uwnea.org, or if you'd prefer, we'll be glad to email it to you. To enter the "Best T-Shirt" contest, please submit your design vie email to ruth.baker@unitedway.org by September 17. If you have questions or need further information, please call the United Way office at 935-3658. We look forward to seeing you on October 8! [+] add comment |
