Dr. Charles Coleman announces retirement Dr. Charles Coleman, Director of the Technology Program andinstructor in Mechanical Engineering at Arkansas State University, has retired from ASU July 12, 2010. "It is a blessing that I worked at Arkansas State University for 19 years," said Dr. Coleman. "I will really miss the students. I have enjoyed working with them." During his time at Arkansas State, Coleman was instrumental in helping to secure software grants for the university. "Dr. Charles Coleman contributed selflessly to ASU for a number of years and will be missed," said Dr. Dan Howard, interim Chancellor at ASU. "Among other things, Dr. Coleman was a positive role model, inspiration, and advocate for our students. We wish him health, happiness, and success in his new endeavors." In addition to his work at ASU, Coleman is heavily involved in community service, including currently serving on the Jonesboro School Board, City Team Ministries Board, and the Jonesboro Transportation Committee (NEAT). He is also a minister in Jonesboro after earning Master of Theology and Doctorate of Ministry degrees in 2000. "We want to thank Dr. Coleman for his years of outstanding service to Arkansas State University as well as the community," said Dr. Glen Jones, interim Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. "He has made a difference in the lives of so many people and will be greatly missed. "We wish him only the best as he begins a new chapter in his life." [+] add comment |
