Aug 10, 2010

The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology
Development Center along with the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will offer an Arkansas Sales and Use Tax Seminar Thursday, August 12, from 1-4 p.m. at the BACC Conference Room, 409 Vine, in Batesville.

This three-hour workshop is designed to inform business owners of current sales tax laws, help them prevent overpayment of sales tax, provide education about the increased risk of audits faced due to increased compliance audits and show how to protect from failure to comply with new regulations.  The seminar also covers state of Arkansas
Incentives and Tax Credits that are available to many eligible
businesses.

The Instructors will be David Rickman, Jeff Simmons and Ted
Walker of Arkansas Tax Associates, Inc.

"Arkansas Tax Associates, Inc. is long time partners with the
ASU SBTDC," said Herb Lawrence, ASU Small Business and Technology Development Center Director.  "It provides a unique service not offered by many accounting firms by helping small businesses understand Arkansas sales and use tax requirements and making sure that businesses are in compliance.

"Arkansas sales and use tax laws become more complicated every year, and this seminar is designed to keep Craighead County businesses informed about changes, how to deal with audits, even find out if they have been overpaying."

Registration is $35 per person ($25 for Chamber and Main Street members).   For more information or to register, contact the Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center at (870) 972-3517 email  asusbtdc@astate.edu, register online at
