Ghost Show Brings new Form of Theatre to Northeast Arkansas
The author of “Haunted Jonesboro” and the creator of the “Jonesboro ghost tour”, Edward L Underwood, will be presenting the debut of “The Ghost Hours Show” in the ballroom of Church Street Station in Jonesboro on Thursday, August 18th at 8 pm.
The event will mark the entry of a new kind of theatrical experience for audiences in the area. “We call it an intimate night of bizarre theatre”, Underwood said, “It is created for a very small, specialized audience and must occur in just the right atmosphere. We are very excited about being in Church Street Station; a city landmark rumored to be haunted since it opened as the Federal Courthouse in 1911.”
The program consists of historical ghost stories, some dark, spooky magic, mindreading, live music, and a gruesome segment dedicated to the ghost of Lizzie Borden. In addition to the show itself, there will be an exhibit of photographs and artifacts from the famous magician Harry Houdini and his battles with mediums and spiritualists. Guests will also be treated to refreshments during the evening’s intermission. “This is a very unique night of entertainment.” Underwood says, “One in which our guests may discover they are getting personally involved in the mysteries that unfold, and one we are confident will not soon be forgotten.”
Current plans are for “The Ghost Hours Show” to be presented in several area locations with each program being unique to those locations.
Reservations are required for the program as audience size is strictly limited. Reservations and information can be found at www.specialoccasionsentertainment.net .
