National Day of Prayer

National Day of Prayer will be celebrated in Jonesboro on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Walnut Steet Baptist Church located 1910 Scenic Drive.  The observerance will start at 12:15 and conclude at 12:45 p.m.  All who wish to attend are cordially invited and are asked to convene in the southwest parking lot, weather permitting.  Otherwise, this will be in worship center.

This year's theme is For Such A Time As This.

In 1952 the U.S. Congress established National Day of Prayer  because prayer has been and continues to be an integral part of our nation's history and foundation.  This observance is held on the first Thursday of each May as Americans exercise their religious freedom and celebrate God's merciful protection over this nation.
