Jonesboro Sam’s Club to Celebrate Grand Re-Opening
Remodel of club includes new pharmacy, photo department
A new pharmacy, photo department and a series of
additional upgrades will be celebrated when the Jonesboro Sam’s Club hosts a grand
re-opening ceremony Friday, May 3.
Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin and members of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of
Commerce will be on hand for the ceremony.
“Sam’s Club is a great asset to our community,” said Mayor Perrin, “Not only do
they offer great products and services, but they get involved with community
events, as their staff volunteers time and by making monetary donations. It is
great to see such a large company invest so much into our city locally.”
The club, located at 2405 S. Caraway Road, has been given an overall remodel, but
the new pharmacy has associates most excited. This addition will be led by
pharmacist Sara Land, a Walmart associate for 11 years who comes to Jonesboro from
her hometown of Kennett, Mo.
“The pharmacy will bring extra savings to our members,” said Land. “We will be able
to participate in free member health screenings now, benefitting members and non
members by providing a needed service at a shopping destination.”
In addition to health screenings, the new pharmacy will offer a 40 percent discount
on generics, and an 8 percent discount on name brand prescription medications. Sam’s
Club can also help keep furry family members healthy at a great price by providing
generic pet medications.
Among the other changes at the club:
· A new photo department, featuring the low prices on prints such as only 17
cents for a 4-by-6 inch photo
· A section of new convertible cash registers which can be managed by
associates, or transformed to self-checkout lanes for members as needed
· An expanded Fresh department
· A renewed café, with an additional soda fountain and new pretzel combo on
the menu.
Club Donating to Area Organizations
As part of its commitment to give back to the community it serves, Sam’s Club will
present $3,000 in grants at the re-grand opening ceremony to the Jonesboro
University Heights Lions Club, the Mission Outreach of Northeast Arkansas and
Disabled Sportsman of Arkansas with each charity receiving $1,000.
