ASU SBTDC to offer small business social media marketing seminar
JONESBORO -- The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology
Development Center (SBTDC), along with the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of
Commerce and Downtown Jonesboro Association, will offer "Facebook Business
Marketing: Set Your Facebook Page to Engage Customers," Thursday, March 10,
from 6-9 p.m. at the ASU Technical Center Computer Lab, 5504 Krueger Drive,
in Jonesboro. Seating is limited to 18.
The seminar is a basic course to help small business owners evaluate how
Facebook and other social media networks can improve marketing efforts.
"Facebook has become a great marketing tool for small businesses," said Herb
Lawrence, center director for the SBTDC. "Over 500 million people are currently
on Facebook and over 700,000 businesses have Facebook pages that allow them to
find and develop profitable relationships with customers. The question is: Are you
on Facebook to greet them?"
The workshop will show how the social media network can help establish
relationships with potential customers on Facebook who want to know more
about their businesses. Topics include discussions of privacy issues, how to
build a professional page, find "fans," use basic Facebook applications and more.
Attendees should have basic computer knowledge and a Facebook profile already
setup to get the most from the session. This three-hour seminar will be taught by
Lawrence.
Registration is $35 per person ($25 Jonesboro Regional Chamber and Downtown
Jonesboro Association members and $20 for ASU faculty, staff and students).
Fans of the ASU Small Business Facebook page receive an additional $5 discount for
being a fan.
