ASU Opera Theatre presents 'Opera Idol' Oct. 20-21
The Department of Music will present the ASU Opera Theatre in a comedic program entitled “Opera Idol” which will be held at Riceland Hall in Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro, Thursday-Friday, Oct.  ASU Opera 201120-21, at 7:30 p.m. The Opera Theatre is under the direction of Dr. Marika Kyriakos, associate professor of Music. Tickets are available now at the ASU Box Office (870-972-2781). They are $8 for adults (in advance); $10 for adults (at the door); and $5 for students and children. Fans of “American Idol” will love ASU Opera Theatre’s comical version of that show--“Opera Idol,” featuring our student judges, who appear as Simon, Paula, Randy, and others. The audience will hear contestants of all sorts, some of whom can sing a little opera. This opening event for the fall will be dedicated to Jessalyn Phillips, who participated in the ASU Opera Program this past spring. Donations in honor of Jessalyn Phillips may be made to the Jessalyn Phillips Living Memorial (ASU Foundation-Opera).
