21ST ANNUAL DAY OF CARING
Sep 26th, 2014 @ 12:00 am | < Previous Page |
United Way’s “Day of Caring” is: team building, community service, just plain gratifying!
“Day of Caring,” Friday, September 26, is the official Campaign Kick-off for United Way of Northeast Arkansas’ fund raising push, giving current and potential donors a chance to see their dollars at work in our community. Many organizations leave much needed projects undone due to a lack of financial resources and/or manpower; but with the help of your employees, these projects can be accomplished. Local businesses have rallied around this day since 1994, making a difference not only in the lives of the thousands served by these organizations, but also in the hearts of their employees.
Volunteers may help build affordable housing, add a fresh coat of paint to a fence or wall, bathe shelter dogs, sort and pack food at a food bank, or spruce up landscaping. A group might work all day or only in the morning or afternoon. To participate, download a volunteer form at the United Way website uwena.org register as an individual or group. Sign up by Friday, August 29 to be matched with a project. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for volunteers.
Make this team building project even more fun, by competing in the “T-shirt Design”, and “Team Spirit” contest. This year we have added traveling trophies for the winning t-shirt design and best team spirit. Best “Team Spirit” will be awarded to the team who posts photos and shares with #UWDOC2014 on Facebook and Twitter the most. You can find a downloadable “Day of Caring” logo at,uwnea.org for your t-shirt design.
Day of Caring is the largest volunteer community service event in Northeast Arkansas. Join the hundreds of volunteers as we make a difference in the community where we live and work.
