A dedicated Women’s Services wing provides more privacy during testing and examinations. This specialty area of St. Bernards Imaging Center, accredited by the American College of Radiology, provides the very best healthcare for area women.
- Full-Field Digital Mammography System. Utilizing one-pass, accurate and precise exposure, this system’s sophisticated detector accommodates almost all breast sizes and allows accurate, easy positioning for image sharpness and improved patient care. A seven-position virtual sensor allows the greatest tissue sampling and quickly determines the densest area of breast tissue, assuring the utmost precision. All St. Bernards Imaging Center technologists are registered in the field of mammography.
- Magnetic Resonance Breast Imaging. St. Bernards is the first to offer bilateral enhanced breast MRI—a supplemental tool to mammography because it is an excellent problem-solving technology. Breast MRI is a useful tool to investigate breast concerns detected with mammography or other imaging exams and is also useful for staging breast cancer, determining appropriate treatment and follow-up after treatment.
- Stereotactic Biopsy System. This new technology shortens procedure time and, in appropriate cases, a preliminary diagnosis can be given the same day of service. The redesigned table allows needle biopsies of lesions that previously could be biopsied only in surgery. * Bone Densitometry System. As the most rapid means of acquiring bone mineral density (BMD) measurements in a single sweep, lateral imaging is the newest generation of bone densitometry.
- Ultrasound Units. Ultrasound images can visualize movement and live function in the body’s organs and blood vessels as well as determine a baby’s size, weight, position and physical condition. Ultrasound also is used to examine the breast, pancreas, liver, gall bladder, thyroid, kidneys, uterus, and ovaries. All ultrasounds are conducted by registered St. Bernards sonographers.
